ROTARY VALVES

ROTARY VANE FEEDERS - DC ø315

Destination  and application of the rotary valve DC type
The rotary valve is used in extraction systems, to empty the containers and to evacuate dry dust, if the dust and gases are not aggressive and their temperature does not exceed 60C, and in locations where this dust can create, together with air, explosive atmospheres. Simultaneously the rotary valve works as protective system (passive clipping system), and its mission is effective stoppage of propagation of explosion or fire, which may appear in extractor/ container  or in collection system. When the shaft stops, the rotary valve works as a valve and prevents the transmission  of the effect of explosion from one space into the other (transmission of pressure wave, gas, flame and ignition).

The stoppage should be made by appropriate systems mounted in the device inside of which  the rotary valves are built in.
The rotary valve type DC consists of steel sheet housing, inside of which there is a bearing shaft with eight partitions. Endings of the partitions are finished with elastic material which guarantees tightness of the rotary valve. The housing is closed by front plates with bearing mountings.

Waste material and dust falling down to the bottom of container goes to partitions of the rotary valve's shaft, and while the shaft is rotating  the dust is  moved to the outlet and gravitationally poured out of the valve, and the empty cells are moved towards inlet and filled with dust again. During the operation process of the rotary valve the air flow is stopped  and dust is moved pressure-less.

Marking  and the location of the rotary valve:
1. When the rotary valve is placed in space which is not classified as one of explosive atmospheres (the internal spaces of the rotary valve  have contact with explosive atmosphere for dust class  St2) it is marked accordingly : CE 1026 Ex D St2. In such case motor and  gear meet the requirements for protection level IP54 and temperature class  T4(+135C).
2. When the rotary valve is placed in space classified as zone of explosive atmospheres e.g. 21, 22 (the internal spaces of the rotary valve still have a contact with explosive atmosphere for the dust class St2) it is marked accordingly: CE Ex II 2 D St2. In such case the motor has anti-explosive design  and it should have ATEX Certificate. Motor and gear meet the requirements for protection level IP56 and temperature class  T4(+135C).
Additional equipment for the rotary valve type DC:
1.Fixing elements for tight assembly of the rotary valve between two spaces of possible explosion danger.
2.Elements enabling the usage of  the rotary valve for evacuation of  waste material to open space e.g. container.
3.Electronic system and pressure detectors which instantly stop the rotary valve in case of explosion (reaction time shorter than 50 ms).
